Remember when Festivals were FREE.
Remember when Festivals were FUN.
Re-live the days when you didn’t have to worry about the tram works or transport costs or the dent in your wallet from ticket prices and food and drink and childcare or how you could get time off work or late nights or…. well, anything.
The great thing about the Edinburgh e-book festival (launching this year) is that it comes to you, you don’t have to go to it. So you are doing your bit to be eco-friendly too: No paper, no carbon emissions and no money spent. The environment will love you for it. You’ll love it back. And you may learn something about the digital publishing revolution and loads of great writing out there you’ve never heard of. From new writers to seasoned professionals re-publishing their back catalogue to award winning authors who are choosing to publish via ebooks for a whole range of reasons, there will be something for everyone.
We’ll be bringing you a host of items online each day from August 11th right through till August 27th.
Our focus is on ebooks and the new world of digital publishing. We are an ‘indie’ festival in every way and are in no way associated with the ‘real’ Edinburgh Book Festival (except that we’re covering much of the same ground at the same time but virtually and from an e-book perspective) We’re not trying to compete, we’re offering an alternative. Because not everyone CAN get to the Edinburgh festival but everyone can come join in our online e-book festival. And it’s all FREE.
You don’t need an ereader to enjoy what we have to offer, but you may end up wanting one when you see all the great indie ebooks out there. and our programme will be available early in August. Each day the early bird slot will give you an update of the day’s proceedings and we’ll be featuring:
Scottish writers, short stories, poetry, commentary, reviews and much much more all with an indie ebook focus.
as well as throwing in our virtual 10p’s worth on many of the ‘themes’ covered by the ‘real’ festival.
It’s the festival that aims to be as inclusive as possible but can be as intimate as you like. And you don’t have to leave the house (if you’re really cheeky you can take part while at work!) So, if you were sad that you couldn’t make it to Edinburgh this summer, cheer up, Edinburgh’s coming to you! Just bookmark this site and get ready to join the ebook festival of the year.
In the virtual world, the only limit is your imagination!
