Short Stories

At 11.15 every morning  (because that’s a civilised time to stop for a cup of coffee) we’ll be posting a short story for the day.

There is an unashamedly Scottish flavour to this event so you might fancy a piece of shortbread with your beverage! Whatever you consume it with, we hope that the wide range of stories featured here will entertain you, challenge you and/or make you smile.

This event is run In association with McStorytellers and Mr McStoryteller himself, Brendan Gisby (see his festival page) picked the stories from the McStoryteller ‘stable’ of Scottish writers. Should our offerings not be enough, or whet your appetite, you can while away the hours surfing the stories on the McStoryteller site.  (Just don’t forget to come back here for 11.15am!)

The Short Story slot features the writing of: Andrew McCallum Crawford, Gavin Broom, Bill Kirton, Brendan Gisby, Cally Phillips, Pat Black, Catherine Czerkawska, Chris Longmuir, Kevin McCallum, John McGroarty, Angus Shoor Caan, Stewart Wright, Alasdair McPherson and Alan Brough.

We also hope to bring you the odd short story from English writers – look out for them during the festival.
